This song was released this summer of 2012 and now has just shy of 350 million You Tube views. Many medias around the world have also covered this singer and video as well as many well known celebrities. Flash mobs and parodies have been created since then.

This video of this song is hilarious on its own. You can watch the video and just have a good chuckle cause nothing seems to make sense. What makes it even funnier is that this song went from Korea to the United States and many people do not even know what it is about. I think this is the most popular non-english song ever made. It is the beat of the song that makes it so catchy. The dance that PSY does is a mix of American dancing mixed with K-Pop (Korean Pop). All of a sudden everyone is doing the Gangnam style dance everywhere.
The best moment of PSY is his moment on Ellen. He was on there teaching Ellen and Britney Spears how do do the Gangnam Style dance.
This song is now on our Calgary radio stations and plays several times a day. Most of the lyrics are in korean but the song is so catchy that it has now a world wide phenomenon. Some critics hate it but I think this song is what music and dance is support to be, which is entertainment.

ReplyDeleteAwesome post! Did you know that Psy - Gangnam Style broke the Guinness World Records for having the most likes on YouTube surpassing LMFAO - Party Rock Anthem?
If I remember correctly, it took Psy a little over 2 months to get over 300,000,000 likes on YouTube while it took almost 2 years for LMFAO to get over 250,000,000. THAT'S CRAZY!!
